I just watched this video where Ncuti Gatwa was trying to explain squash to an American

Well here’s a bottle of squash.

It has nothing to do with pumpkins and other “gourd” vegetables as this actress seems to think…
In the UK squash (sometimes also called cordial) was originally a concentrated mixture of fruit and sugar that can be diluted to make a refreshing drink.
It’s now bought as a prepared mix like in the bottle photographed.
The iconic brands are Robinsons, and Ribena.
The Robinsons in the photo recommends 4 parts water to 1 part squash (100ml squash becomes a 500ml drink) I find that a little strong and use 80 ml of squash to make my 500ml drink in a bottle I drink from

I drink a couple of these 500ml bottles of the diluted squash during the day and also a couple of chilled water to keep myself hydrated.
Personally I don’t like tea and coffee so without squash and water I’d be a dried up husk.
Until next time
