I’ve just found out that Wayne Osmond the bass singer in the first band I became a total fan of has died.
He was 10 years older than I and I have loved The Osmonds since I was 11 (52 years) and first heard Crazy Horses.
As a band I was willing to move money I’d saved for my first love (books) over to save for records for their music.
In many ways though I never met them to chat they felt like extended family or close friends.
Wayne’s voice was so distinctive when he was singing, and lent a firm foundation to the harmonies that the band sang.
I found out 20 minutes ago and feel totally gut punched that an important influence in my life has gone beyond the veil.
I’m sending all my love to his family.
Until next time I’ll be reliving my teens listening to the music I babysat to.
