International Market

The Market is mostly about food and after being delayed by rain the weather app hadn’t predicted we left a little after we had planned. We got there during our lunchtime window after walking through the town and the first food we saw was the churros that my grandson was eager to have.

Large photo on the left my grandson’s churros. Long thin doughnuts with chocolate sauce drizzled over and some marshmallows put in beside them.
Top right foot long fries with barbecue sauce drizzled over them.
Second down right my grandson enjoying his double scoop of ice cream.
Third down right a Toasties and Dirty Fries stall
Bottom the ice cream and slushies stall

After he’d eaten his with chocolate sauce and marshmallows, and my daughter and I had shared ours (chocolate and strawberries) we walked along a bit more and got slushies before walking some more.

My grandson and I had foot long fries which he told me weren’t as long as a ruler, but were freshly made and crunchy. I had regular mayonnaise and he had barbecue sauce. My daughter got goat curry a while later and I can’t remember what my grandson had (he must have hollow legs).

The last thing we got from the market as we walked back through was a double scoop of ice cream for the boy.

Time to walk back to my daughter’s via the prom stopping for some photos along the way.

Top left the red boat speeding along in front of the Yorkshire coast. The tide is out so the person near the Lincolnshire shore probably had about a half mile walk at least.
Top right the donkeys are by where the muddy Humber silt reaches the yellow sand. There’s not too much of a crowd at the south end of the beach near the Market
Bottom left is the “beached” boat and some people in the water beyond the silty section of the beach. At the bottom of this picture is a glimpse of the yellow sand.
Bottom right a blue, white and yellow boat speeding along in front of Spurn Lighthouse in the East Riding of Yorkshire. My grandson saw the yellow.

I spotted another big red ship or boat and asked what other boats there were, there was a small “beached” boat not far from the donkey rides, and a few other boats sailing by some at great speed and some quite leisurely.

The prom was quite crowded and we were walking against the main flow but it was a pleasant walk…

Until we got to the bottom of Suggits Lane Bridge and a lad on a bike thought doing wheelies at speed past pedestrians was fun…

It wasn’t fun seeing him come towards me but at least he gave a decent amount of space but as he came from behind he was close enough for my trouser legs to flap in his slipstream and to make feel unbalanced and stumble…

Hurray for Captain Walker my walking stick for helping me remain upright.

Anyway I used the ramp over the bridge as I was feeling shaky after my fright and didn’t feel I could manage the stairs, and we went on back to my daughter’s home grateful to have the choice.

Just up this morning getting ready for today’s adventure so until next time take care.
