15th August I mentioned that I would be walking 3km a day in September and why.

This is a report about my first 4 days of walking. You may notice on the attached collage the distances are in miles.
The total I have walked is 10.83 miles (17.429196km).
Each walk is recorded using my Apple Watch and depicted on a satellite map of my route.
On 1st September I walked 2.5 miles (4.02336km) I chose a short walk around Digswell Lake Nature Reserve as I was quite tired after nearly a week at my daughter’s, and the 3 train journey home the previous day. It didn’t all go to plan as the path through the copse was extremely marshy and obviously hadn’t dried out over this year’s wet summer so much of the path was overgrown too.
On 2nd September a mere 1.96 miles (3.154314km) I started by heading to pick up my medication when I realised I’d forgotten my bag so I decided to to change direction to go through an alley on the industrial estate and got to enjoy a sprig of fresh buddleia (one of about a dozen on a bush covered in hundreds of dead brown old sprigs) it’s so good to see an unexpected pop of colour.
On 3rd September I did a short circuit via the hill field and river which was 2.71 miles (4.361322km)
Today was a trek of 3.66 miles (5.890199km) to get the medication I abandoned yesterday I’d hoped to avoid the back to school traffic by the senior school but they must have had a staggered back to school day as at a time I would have expected almost all pupils to be in school there were a lot milling around the school gates.
