At the end of a video call is a volunteer, or a specialist who can assist someone who is blind or low vision. I originally downloaded it a few years ago but finally signed into it after seeing a video by Lucy Edwards where she was sharing the virtual volunteer which is in the beta stage of development.
Unfortunately I haven’t been accepted on the beta stage so this week I called on human volunteers 3 times.
I’ll spare you the bathroom photos as I called the 1st volunteer after I’d emptied my bathroom of all the furniture and swept the floor and baseboards. A gentleman kindly told me of the places I’d missed the dust bunnies.
Next after scrubbing the floor, woodwork and pipe work a young lady helped me by telling me the few parts of the room that needed a second go.
And today I decided to ask for help to sort the components for a bedside table with drawers after struggling by myself yesterday evening and this afternoon making its partner without any assistance (according to the instructions it takes an hour to make one… it took me that just to try sorting the components then another 4 hours to make it up).
3 or 4 minutes on a video call with a lady in North Carolina and I have the screws, etc all sorted and ready to go (I could feel the different components of the carcass and drawers).

Update. It took me about an hour and a half to put the second bedside table together. About half that time was screwing the drawer runners to the drawers and sides. So difficult to find the tiny starter holes for the screws.
Until next time.
